[QUOTE]European Table Tennis Union a.s.b.l.
To the ITTF member Associations
Dear Table Tennis Friends,
As you know, there are just a few days to go to the ITTF Annual General Meeting where the
delegates of our National Associations are called to cast their vote and appoint the new President
and the Executive Committee of the ITTF for the next four years.
It will be a very important moment at which the table tennis family will have to decide the future of
all its players, officials, fans and kids who love our sport.
All of us have had to tackle a very difficult time these past weeks, due to the decision to disclose the
documents received by the ETTU, regarding Mr. Adham Sharara’s infringements in the
management of the ITTF and its financial resources.
I was not happy at all to undertake this action and we did not start it for the purpose of supporting
my candidacy for Presidency. Making these allegations public was done after long and hard
deliberation, after carefully examining the evidence and having given due thought to the
consequences.
On the one hand, I knew that we would be opening a very serious controversy and that some
federations and Mr. Sharara himself, would interpret my action as having ulterior motives in
connection with my candidacy, changing the “terms of the situation” to suit their purpose.
Unfortunately, the evidence came in to our hands only when it did, just before election time.
On the other hand, we are faced with a very questionable situation and a very serious conflict of
interests within an Olympic sport, where the world President is disregarding the basic rules and
principles of ethical financial management, as well as the Olympic Charter.
Mr. Sharara’s statement and strategy clearly show his goal: to presently hide all the problems, to hopefully
get re-elected and to look for solutions later.
Mr. Sharara has to give some plausible explanations and answers to a lot of very serious questions, which
have remained unanswered so far.

Furthermore, I was very surprised by the levity with which some persons approached the issue.
It made me realize that many people did not understand the seriousness and gravity of what has
happened and that we are the ones reporting and not infringing the rules.
Therefore, I felt it was my duty to prevent this situation from prolonging further.
It is essential for the democracy of our sport to have a challenger who will end this system of
disloyal management and very serious conflict of interests for personal gains.
With the backing and the mandate of member associations that are aware of the serious prejudice
that is being caused to our Federation, I decided to serve the ITTF with my candidature.
My candidacy for the ITTF Presidency must be considered a service offered to the ITTF and table
tennis, the sport to which I have dedicated my life.
I, hereby, wish to thank all of you for the high consideration you have shown me and for the support
I have received from most of you.
I’m fully persuaded that we can succeed and have a new, transparent ITTF very soon.
I have spent many days discussing with the National Associations around the world, in order to
present my programme and to make them clearly understand my aim and my strong will to usher in
a new era, where the ITTF, the Continental and the National Associations will be able to dialogue
with each other and work together to improve the success of table tennis world-wide.
Let us not tarnish the image of our sport further! Fair-play and correctness must prevail over
illegitimate business and personal gain.
My project has been under your eyes for a long time. You can find it here:
http://www.stefanobosi.com/programme
My aim is not to start a revolution, but first to re-establish a “healthy” scenario, amongst other
things, with a unique ITTF centralised office in Lausanne.
If I am elected, I intend to confirm the collaboration with staff who have already demonstrated their
professional capabilities, know-how and loyalty.
The new ITTF will be at the service of the Continents, and all the current projects benefiting the
Associations and Continents will be confirmed and reinforced.
I have never denied the good things that the ITTF has undertaken during the past years but we have
to work much more to balance the technical skills of the Continents, otherwise our sport will not
progress any further.
“Continents and Associations first” is a must.

I do hope all delegates casting their vote will do so in full awareness of the great responsibility that
is in their hands.
I rely on their intelligence, independence and sense of responsibility.
Yours in sports,
